8. 그 지역에 목자들이 밤에 밖에서 자기 양 떼를 지키더니

1 저 들 밖에 한밤 중에 양 틈에 자던 목자들

천사들이 전하여 준 주 나신 소식 들었네

2 저 동방에 별 하나가 이상한 빛을 비추어

이 땅 위에 큰 영광이 나타날 징조 보였네

3 그 한 별이 베들레헴 향하여 바로 가더니

아기 예수 누우신 집 그 위에 오자 멈췄네

8. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

1 The first Noel, the angel did say, Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay;

In fields where they lay keeping their sheep, On a cold winter's night that was so deep.

2 They looked up and saw a star Shining in the east, beyond them far;

And to the earth it gave great light, And so it continued doth day and night.

3 Thsi star drew nigh to the northwest, O'er Bethlehem it took its rest,

And there it did doth stop and stay, Right over the place where Jesus lay.

4 Then entered in there wisemen three, Full rev'rently upon the knee,

And offer'd there, in His presence, Their gold and myrrh, and frankincense,
